Persona Poem

My head hurts at the end of the day from dirty hands holding my head and neck
My hair gets shaved and broken
shaved and broken
My feet are worn at the end of the day from helping students with words
writing and erasing
writing and erasing
writing and erasing
When I am not in use I sit in a dark corner waiting to be used

Nebraska Weather

Snow slowly falling softly on the well farmed ground
Hearing the wind blow debris around during the storm
Hot summers
Cold winters
Living the good life in Nebraska, the land of crazy weather

Inspiration

Sometimes there
Other times there is none
Comes from anything
Comes from everything
Hard to find
Easy to use

Weather Poem

Snowstorm

Biting at your fingers
Crisp air whirling around
Staying warm in a winter coat
Snowballs flying through the air
Children hiding in forts made of fluffy white powder
Everyone goes in side as the sun slowly sets on this waste land of snow

Extended Metaphor

Fear
is a mountain
hard to destroy
as they grow higher
and higher in my soul
Trapping me in the cold wet snow
Slowly making it hard to breathe
Slowly corroding my deep intensive soul
But I will fight them; I will break the chains
Slowly; Carefully; Dangerously; As I walk on the
Edge of my comfort zone in this difficult world

Found Poem

We all abandoned hope in the Days of Death
We felt society change you
You are the killer of my dreams, Death
and you are the image of evil
I will fight for the victims
of your injustice.
Even in suffering
Even
in
Suffering
